The naming of Buttercup, as told by Buttercup.

It all started one weekend at the start of our second semester of school. I had known The Keeper of Friendship and The Keeper of Mirth for quite a while since they lived only two floors above me and we all came from the same home town. Those two sacky guys had The Tot and The Immortal Sketching Spirit come to Madison for a weekend. My roommate, Dr. Benway, invited everyone to come to my room to view the mystical fractals his computer could draw. All had partaken of the holy herb except I. I had work to do before I could play that night, and was just finishing up as they all arrived in my humble room. We began to discuss certain wonderful things and leave a small part of ourselves with each person. As I spoke with The Immortal Sketching Spirit he said, "You should be a Rafan." After asking if I would like to be one I decided to say yes. After some celebration the Rafans had to decide on a name for me. At first the Keeper of Friendship asked me about my idols and favorite Presidents. As I thought, I realized that I had no favorite President and no one that I looked up to. My friends began to concentrate on a name that would suit me well when Maxwell said, "Lets call him Reeses Peanut Butter Cup." Then it was taken as, "Reeses can be his first name, Peanut the middle, and Buttercup the last. How do you like that?" by The Keeper of Friendship. I said that i didn't like it at all because it was to long. Then Max had the idea of just Buttercup. I liked it because it is a silly name for a man to be called by. Boo Boo was woken from his sleep to be fed the holy herb once again. He shared kindly with the Keeper of Friendship as he christened me with the name of Buttercup. Boo Boo then shared his wealth with the rest of the Rafans present which were The Keeper of Mirth, The Keeper of Friendship, The Tot, The Immortal Sketching Spirit, Maxwell Silverhammer, Fuzzy Bear, and Dr. Benway. That is how I became known as Buttercup to many a poor soul who has met me and partaken of the holy herb with me.
